Ali Bastian and husband David O' Mahony were over the moon to find out the news they are expecting their second child – and their two year old daughter Isla was just as excited.
Speaking to her cousin Emma Jaulin on their new podcast Mum Talk, the actress accidentally let slip the gender of her second baby.
When talking about her experience and excitement about being pregnant with her second child, Ali accidently referred to her baby as "her" which was quickly followed by: "Ahh I've given it away!"
"I'm pregnant with a little girl, another little girl," Ali revealed.
"It was bound to happen that I'd blurt it out. But we've known for a while.
"I don't know why we kept it a secret, it was just one of those things we kept quiet about for a bit."
"So Ivy's gonna get a sister! That's magical," Emma replied.
Ali went on to say that there will be a three year age gap between Ivy, who's currently two and a half years old, and her new baby sister.
Ali welcomed her first child Isla back in March 2020 – days before the first UK lockdown amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The TV star found out the news she was expecting her second child while at home by herself.
“Isla was having a proper toddler morning, so David had taken her out in her carrier to get her to sleep," the 40-year-old told OK!.
“I felt that I should take a test. We’d been trying but I’d had a negative test result earlier in the month. I couldn’t believe it was positive.
“I texted David a photo of the test and said, ‘This can’t be real, please go to the pharmacy and pick up more tests.’
“He arrived back at the doorstep with the pregnancy tests and Isla asleep in the carrier. He had tears in his eyes.”
