Britney Spears to marry today – without her mum, dad and sister there

Britney Spears is due to marry her fiancé Sam Asghari today, Thursday 9 June, it has been reported.

The 40 year old popstar is set to exchange vows with her fitness instructor partner of five years in front of 100 guests, with members of her family left out from the party, TMZ has stated.

According to the media outlet, Britney’s parents Jamie and Lynne Spears and her sister Jamie-Lynn will not be attending the nuptials, which doesn’t come as a surprise considering the artist’s estranged relationship with the trio.

Britney’s older brother Bryan is reported to be at the wedding however, suggesting that he might walk his sister down the aisle instead of their father, although this role hasn’t been made clear, according to TMZ.

After Britney and Sam, 28, got engaged last September, an insider revealed that the Baby One More Time singer had decided who wouldn’t be at her nuptials, as they told US Weekly: “As of now, there will be none of her family who is invited to wedding.”

Britney was seen beaming in a video shared on Instagram as she announced her engagement news, flashing her custom four-carat diamond ring as she said: “I can’t f***ing believe it!!!'”

While it is not clear which designer Britney will wear at the ceremony, she and Sam were spotted meeting Donatella Versace in recent months.

The couple were seen enjoying a ride in a Rolls Royce on Instagram Stories a day ahead of their reported wedding, in a clip the singer posted which saw her speak in an English accent playfully.

Britney appeared in happy spirits in the video along with her fiancé as she showed off her jewel-encrusted manicured nails, possibly applied for the ceremony, and was seen raising a glass of champagne, clearly in the celebratory mood.

Reports of the wedding ceremony come months after Britney shockingly revealed that she had not been allowed to get married or have more children under her conservatorship controlled by her father Jamie, which she was finally released from after 13 years.

“I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I was told right now in the conservatorship I am not able to get married or have a baby,” she stated in a court testament in June 2021.

Britney already has two sons Sean, 16, and Jayden Preston, 15, with ex husband Kevin Federline and has been open about her wish to have more children with fiancé Sam.

She revealed that she was pregnant in April, however sadly announced the next month that she had suffered a miscarriage.
