Pregnancy announcements make everything better!
On Tuesday morning, singer Thomas Rhett announced he and his wife Lauren Akins are expecting their third child — and he’s pretty darn excited, despite the fact that it means he’ll be “paying for 3 weddings.”
Yes, that means they’re expecting another baby girl!
In an Instagram post showing his daughters Willa Gray and Ada James putting their hands on mom’s baby bump, the country star wrote:
“Excited to share that I will now be paying for 3 weddings. I feel so blessed to say that our third child is on the way and it’s a girl!! I love you so much @laur_akins. WG and AJ, y’all are gonna be the best big sisters! Bring on the crazy.”
Yay!
Lauren also confirmed the happy news in a post on her own page, sharing a series of snaps showing the family-of-four finding out the gender of the baby — using trendy smoke bombs!
She wrote in the caption:
“We are absolutely over the moon for our baby girl! Our girls cannot wait to meet their little sister. Willa Gray prays for her every night (heart in a puddle every time) & she and Ada James love to touch my belly and talk to her—especially bc I’ve been showing since I was SEVEN weeks.”
Lauren’s post also included a video of Thomas’ reaction to the gender reveal — which could best be described as “shock,” as she put it in the caption. Ch-ch-check it out (below)!

The family was quickly ambushed with well wishes from fans and friends, including Nick Jonas, Kelsea Ballerini, and Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley.
For those who don’t know, the couple adopted their daughter Willa in 2017 and, months later, welcomed Ada into their family.
The Grammy-nominee previously opened up about how adoption was both “amazing” and “challenging” for the couple, telling E! News that it’s something they’ll “more than likely do again.” He said at the time:
“For me and Lauren, was one of the most amazing but also challenging experiences of our lives and it is something that totally changed our lives for forever. It’s something we will more than likely do again. Lauren wants a million kids so we need to get back on that train.”
Looks like they’re already back on it! LOLz!
