Snow Patrol rocker Johnny McDaid is going to have to take it easy for a while.
McDaid’s partner, Courteney Cox, revealed on Instagram that McDaid underwent spinal surgery to receive two new discs in his spine.
“Happy to be taking care of my man….I’M HIS NUMBER ONE FAN! Johnny has sooo many platinum discs, now he has two made of titanium,” quipped Cox in the caption, before more seriously thanking his surgeon. “Thank you @drtoddlanman for your incredible work. #onthemend #misery.”
McDaid, 42, received plenty of good wishes from fellow celebrities, including Justin Theroux, Busy Philipps, Sara Foster and his fellow bandmate, bassist Paul Wilson.
The band’s official Instagram page said that McDaid’s operation “went well” and he was recovering.
The “Friends” alum and McDaid began dating in 2013 and got engaged in June 2014. Seventeen months later, the couple called off their engagement but reconciled six months later; however, they don’t call each other “fiancé” or “fiancée.”
“He’s my partner. That’s what he calls it — ‘partner’ — and I’m from Alabama so you don’t really say ‘partner’ unless you’re in the same sex,” Cox explained on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” earlier this year. “He’s my guy. He’s my one, so ‘partner’ is difficult for me.”
