"Shane's special signal to the children, telling them he loves them," she wrote.

Shane's secret signal comes after he revealed his joy at being asked to go on the show.

Just as he was confirmed to be going into the castle, the entertainer, who recently hinted at a return to Eastenders, said: "We got the call in January and I agreed to do it because it was the 20th one.

"My kids were old enough to travel to Australia and they wanted to meet Ant and Dec! We were all really excited."

The television presenter went on to explain that he was planning to fit the show around his work schedule but as a result of the pandemic, his commitments were cancelled and he was left cash-strapped.

"We were going to fit it around my other work as I was going on tour, doing a TV series, panto – but all that got cancelled in March.

"And now I am literally skint. You save money for a rainy day but you don't expect the rainy day to last six months," he shared.
