Isabela Merced is set to play Juliet in a new movie called Rosaline!
The upcoming feature is a modern twist on the classic Romeo and Juliet tale, centering on Juliet’s cousin Rosaline, according to Deadline.

The movie is based on the book “When You Were Mine” by Rebecca Serle. It’s told “through the eyes of Juliet’s cousin Rosaline, a sharp but idealistic young woman – who happens to Romeo’s recent ex. What begins as an attempt to foil the famous romance and win back her guy becomes a journey of self-discovery as she ultimately works to help get the star-crossed lovers back together.”
Kaitlyn Dever is attached to play Rosaline, with Karen Maine to direct.
Isabela is continuing to build up her acting resume. She just had an animated feature release in theaters – Spirit Untamed, she’ll soon be seen in the Netflix film Sweet Girl, with Jason Momoa, and it was recently revealed that she’s joined the cast of the Father of the Bride remake.
Later this year, Kaitlyn will star in the Dear Evan Hansen movie, and she’s set to play George Clooney and Julia Roberts‘ daughter in an upcoming film.
