Kirstie Allsopp, 49, has denied she broke lockdown rules earlier this year by travelling to her “second home” after her partner Ben Anderson was diagnosed with coronavirus. The Location, Location, Location host was accused of flouting the rules during the first lockdown.
However, the presenter has now insisted she and Ben travelled to the property in order to “isolate” safely.
Kirstie, who owns two places in Devon: a family home and a house that is rented out for holiday-makers, said: “At the start of lockdown, a lot of people were saying that I’d broken a rule by going to the family home in Devon.
“When Ben was diagnosed with Covid, we weren’t at home, either in London or Devon. We were somewhere else.”
The mum-of-three went on to say the couple went to Devon to minimise the risk of Ben infecting anyone else due to their “40 acres” of outdoor space.

She explained: “Because Ben was infectious, we went to Devon, where there’s 40 acres and we wouldn’t infect anyone else.
“There are loads of people who are always going to believe I did the wrong thing.
“I did not go to Devon [from London] after lockdown.
“We went to isolate,” Kirstie divulged.
The television personality also aired her views about lockdown after branding it a “terrible idea” in a controversial Twitter post.
She told this week’s Radio Times: “Lockdowns are such a blunt tool.
“If we were prepared to hold on a little bit longer and dig a bit deeper into the data, we might have been able to work out that this or that environment didn’t cause X and Y.
“That, for example, the rate of transmission in gyms is very small, so why shut them?

Following backlash Kirstie faced about travelling to Devon, she previously insisted that she did not flee to the family’s holiday home after they became sick.
She told Metro: “We thought, what do we do?
“Do we go to the place which already has food in the freezer, already has stuff, you know, I got more loo roll in this house.

“I don’t need to buy more loo roll. I’m a kind of a classic, eldest, first child and incredibly organised.”
Kirstie continued: “So I didn’t need to go out and buy more paracetamol or take anything from anybody else. I have all that I need here.
“So when we got this obviously worrying diagnosis, we came to the place where we were safest where the dog could be walked, without going outside.”
Kirstie and Ben share two sons, and she is also stepmother to his two children from a previous relationship.
