The Wanted star Max George shared his loving tribute to his fellow bandmate Tom Parker on what have been his 34th birthday on Thursday 4 August.
Tom died on 30 March after a two-year battle with inoperable brain cancer.
Max posted a series of photos of himself as he revealed his new tattoo in memory of his late friend.
The inking is on Max’s chest and features the date of Tom’s birthday.
Beside the photos of the touching tribute, Max captioned: “04.08.1988. Happy Birthday brother…You’re always with me”, adding a heart emoji.
Tom was open about his cancer battle after being diagnosed in 2020, and went on to reunite and perform with band The Wanted in shows up until his last few weeks, despite declining health.
Fans praised bandmate Max for his new ink in the comment section, as one person wrote: “Always. He would have loved this”, while another said: “I love this so much, so precious.”
A third follower commented: “Aww that is absolutely beautiful. Sending so much love to you Max, he will be so proud of you and he will always be with you. He will forever live on in all of our hearts, thinking of you today love you.”
Max spoke about his grief over Tom in June as he appeared on Good Morning Britain. He said at the time: "Mentally I’m alright, everything’s fine. It’s more just the physical thing right now and the physical pain of not having [Tom] here. It hurts.”
Max continued: “That’s the only way I can describe it. “There’s nothing else to it other than I miss him.
“Grief actually is almost the physical pain,” he said. “It won’t go, and it’s there, and it throbs.”
Max' tribute comes as Tom's widow Kelsey Parker, who shares children Aurelia, three, and Bodhi, one, with the late star, posted her own poignant message for his birthday.
The grieving wife described the day as being “really tough” as she uploaded a video of herself singing with a group of performing arts children on a train.
Kelsey wrote: “Thanks for lovely messages around Tom's birthday. Not going to lie, it started as a really tough day, feeling pretty fed up with the world but thankfully this lovely lot have lifted my spirits…
“@k2kstars trip to see 101 Dalmatian’s at Regent's Park, how can their voices not fill you with a bit of joy. Happy Birthday up there my love, miss you more and more each day. I know you will be proud of me and your babies.”
