Made in Chelsea’s Joshua Patterson is undertaking what might seem like an impossible task to most of us and attempting to complete 76 marathons in just as many days.
The London local joined the popular reality TV show back in 2015, where he was usually seen alongside cast members like Alex Mytton, Alexandra "Binky" Felstead, Jamie Laing and Spencer Matthews.
Since then the 33 year old star has made a name for himself in the fitness industry and is currently embarking upon the mammoth task in the hopes of raising £1 million for Samaritans.
In his announcement of the campaign, which is sponsored by Grenade, Joshua explained: “Over the past five years, I’ve been exposing myself, both mentally and physically, to some of the most extreme challenges.
“The next challenge I’m going to be undertaking is a marathon in all of the 76 cities in the UK, consecutively.”
After weeks of gruelling training that included intense workouts in the gym and a painful cupping experience, Joshua set off on February 27 in Inverness.
On Instagram, he told his 399k followers: “I woke up this morning for the first marathon feeling really anxious, it’s hard not to focus on the number of marathons, you just have to find ways to break it down.
“The reception I got from the locals this morning really humbled me, people taking the time to cheer me on really lifted my spirits as we set off. The body was strong today and for the first time I managed to stomach food.
“Crossing that finish line felt surreal, you feel so proud to have completed the distance but you can’t get caught up, knowing there’s so many more to come.”
Since then, Joshua has completed marathons in Aberdeen and Dundee but found himself “spaced out” on day four when he ran the circuit in Perth.
The reality TV star was in high spirits on day five when he ran around “one of the most beautiful settings” in Stirling, before continuing on to Dunfermline, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bangor, and Derry-Londonderry.
On Thursday, Joshua ran Armagh but was struggling with pain in his Achilles, though he’s been supported by his brilliant team.
Weather conditions were also a factor, as he explained: “We’ve been so lucky with the weather, today we were to finally face the bad, the snow and rain hailed down for almost all of it, visibility was minimal at times, in all honesty it didn’t bother me a bit, I was so grateful to even be running today.”
Joshua has been updating his social media each day with his progress and has also been posting behind-the-scenes footage to his Instagram story.
Many of the star’s famous friends have celebrated him on social media, with former Love Island contestant and Olympian Greg O’Shea penning: “Pure Class.”
“You’re a special human. See you in N Ireland baby,” he added on another post, as co-star Oliver Proudlock wrote, “You have got this bro!!! Just incredible what you are doing.”
Samaritans wrote: “We're cheering you on every step of the way, Josh Good luck.”
