Molly-Mae Hague has insisted she would be just as successful as she is today without Love Island and was even warned off going on the show.

The blonde beauty, 22, sky rocketed to fame after she appeared on the 2019 series of the ITV dating show, where she met her boxer boyfriend Tommy Fury.

Earlier this week, it was announced that Molly-Mae had become a creative director for Pretty Little Thing in a seven figure fashion deal.

As she discussed her amazing achievement, Molly-Mae credited her drive and ambition for her success.

She explained: "The things that I've achieved since coming out of that show aren't really down to the show they're more down to my drive and ambition to do big things."

Molly-Mae, who splashed out on a £37,000 Cartier bracelet as a well done to herself, went on to Mail Online: "I always say don’t bite the hand that feeds you but also respect that I’ve obviously worked so hard to get where I am now… I always had big goals and I set myself huge dreams.

"Everybody when they come out of that show is given the same opportunities – we all have the same 24 hours in the day – and where you take your life when you come out of a show like that is totally dependent on who you are as a person."

The influencer also revealed she had been warned against going on Love Island as her social media following was already growing at a "rapid rate" and she had already been spotted by multiple brands, including Pretty Little Thing.

Reflecting on her time in the villa, she said: "It was more a fun opportunity where I thought let's just see where this goes and I might actually find a guy… I think, it pushed me in the right direction but I would have still done good things."

And, when asked where her ambition comes from Molly-Mae joked: "Pushy parents!"

She continued: "I had my first job when I was thirteen in a hairdressers sweeping the floor. I’ve always had that hunger to earn my own money and be a bit of a business woman."

It comes after Molly-Mae revealed she no longer sees herself as an influencer in an exclusive chat with OK!.

When asked how her boyfriend Tommy, 22, reacted to the news of her role, Molly-Mae explained: "He was really, really happy and proud. He’s got a lot going on himself but he’s just super proud of me and this is obviously the biggest move in my career I would say.

"It is just going to be so different, obviously having a role within PLT is so different to what I’ve already done – I’m not just an influencer anymore."
