Nick Jonas is in talks to play the lead role of Frankie Valli in an upcoming special event performance of the musical Jersey Boys, which is intended to debut exclusively on a streaming service.
The producers of the Tony-winning musical are reportedly hoping to replicate the success of Hamilton‘s debut on Disney+ last year, according to Deadline.
The streaming event is being produced by Bohemian Rhapsody‘s Graham King along with the original Broadway producers. The Four Seasons members Frankie Valli and Bob Gaudio are also involved in the project.
The role of Frankie was originated in the musical Jersey Boys by John Lloyd Young, who won the Tony Award and went on to star in the film version, which was directed by Clint Eastwood.
One of the original members of the Four Seasons sadly passed away back in September due to COVID-19 complications.
