Rick Moranis, 67, was rushed to hospital after being punched in the head in a random attack. Police are currently appealing for more information following the unprovoked incident.
The Ghostbusters cast favourite was out walking near Central Park, near to where he lives in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, New York City, yesterday when the unknown man attacked him.
The moment was captured in a shocking CCTV clip, in which the attacker can be seeing punching Rick before knocking him to the ground.
The footage previously showed Rick walking down the street when the man aimed a punch at his head.
The star can then be seen lying on the floor as the man leaves the scene.

The suspect was filmed wearing an “I love NY” hoodie, black jeans and a face mask in the video.
Police have called the attack “random” and “unprovoked”.
According to the NYPD, the actor was then taken to hospital for an evaluation because he was suffering pain in his head, back and hip.
Rick then reported the incident to police at the 20th Precinct.
Police have now confirmed they are still searching for the suspect, who fled following the attack.
On Twitter, the NYPD announced it is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for the suspect’s apprehension.
The NYPD shared the CCTV footage on the social media platform and wrote: “WANTED for ASSAULT.
“On 10/1, at 7:24 AM, a 67-year-old male victim was walking southbound on Central Park West in the vicinity of West 70th Street, when an unidentified male struck him in the head with a closed fist, knocking him to the ground.

A representative for Rick told Express.co.uk: “Rick Moranis was assaulted on the Upper West Side yesterday. He is fine but grateful for everyone’s thoughts and well wishes.”
Rick first rose to fame when he appeared in the 1983 film Strange Brew.
He then appeared in a series of blockbusters including Ghostbusters in 1984, Spaceballs in 1987.
Rick went on to star in Ghostbusters II and Honey, I Shrunk the Kids in 1989.
Following the success of the original film, the actor returned for sequel Honey, I Blew Up The Kid in 1992.
Rick has only done voicework since for animated projects including the 2003 film Brother Bear and TV series The Animated Adventures Of Bob & Doug McKenzie.
The star explained he wanted to step away from the spotlight to focus on being a single parent to his children, Rachel and Mitchell, after his wife, costume designer Ann Belsky, died of breast cancer in February 1991.
