The famous TV couple and their family are allegedly ‘inconsolable’ after a judge sentenced Todd to 12 years in prison, while Julie was sentenced to seven years for bank fraud and tax evasion.
AceShowbiz –Todd Chrisley and Julie Chrisley are allegedly still struggling to accept their bombshell 12- and 7-year prison sentences for bank fraud. According to a new report, the famous TV couple and their family are “inconsolable” following the shocking news on November 21.
A source revealed to HollywoodLife.com that the “Chrisley Knows Best” stars’ “entire family was in complete shock, and they still are.” The insider continued,” When they first learned the sentence, they were all hysterical and there was lots of crying from everyone. No one could believe that this was the outcome.”
It was also said that the Chrisleys locked themselves up following the prison sentence. “Todd and Julie didn’t want to see anyone yesterday except family and they are currently without words,” the informant went on saying. “They are inconsolable. Grayson and Chloe are obviously taking this the worst because they all really depend on Todd and Julie. It is such a sad day for all of them.”
On Monday, November 21, Judge Eleanor Ross sentenced Todd to 12 years in prison, while Julie was sentenced to seven years after being found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion. The couple will reportedly have to serve 16 months of probation as well.
They were found guilty of multiple charges in June. “The Chrisleys have built an empire based on the lie that their wealth came from dedication and hard work,” prosecutors wrote in a sentencing memorandum on November 16. “The jury’s unanimous verdict sets the record straight; Todd and Julie Chrisley are career swindlers who have made a living by jumping from one fraud scheme to another, lying to banks, stiffing vendors, and evading taxes at every corner.”
The sentencing also hugely affected their TV shows. In the wake of the prison sentence, it was reported that “Chrisley Knows Best”, its spin-off “Growing Up Chrisley” as well as a planned series were all scrapped.
“Chrisley Knows Best”, which was renewed for a tenth season a month before the convictions, followed real estate “tycoon” Todd. It’s said that USA Network would air a handful of episodes, which were filmed before the trial, from this season next year. As for “Growing Up Chrisley”, which followed the couple’s kids Chase Chrisley and Savannah Chrisley, it was also said that E! pulled the plug on its fourth season.
The family also lost their third TV show, “Love Limo”. Prior to this, E! ordered the dating show which was set to be hosted by Todd. The show was supposed to feature a group of singletons putting their dating life into his hands.
