Steph McGovern has taken to Instagram to reveal her bloodied knee after slipping and falling on ice. The host of Channel 4’s Steph’s Packed Lunch, 39, showcased her injury while documenting its healing process as the graze turned a vibrant shade of yellow.
I’ve been trying to be brave but it is nacking
In view of her 63,500 followers, the former BBC presenter revealed the painful-looking wound.
Posting to her stories, Steph took a snap of her injury from inside the Leeds studio, where her show is filmed, while at work.
She wrote: “Slipped on the ice… hit the deck and grazed my knee.”
The star added a GIF reading: “Ouch.”
Wearing a pain expression, Steph rolled up her trouser leg to reveal a nasty-looking graze to her knee.
The Steph’s Packed Lunch studio could be seen behind the star as she wore a full-face of glam and bright pink jumper.
In the next story, the presenter shared a close-up snap of the wound, which was starting to sport a large bruise around the knee.
Steph went on to explain to her followers how she had sustained the injury.
She wrote: “I did it on Tues morn on way into gym…
“I’ve been trying to be brave but it is nacking (Boro word for pain).
“It’s gone all yellow from the bruise now too…” she ended her post.
In previous stories, Steph revealed that she had managed to workout in spite of her injury.
The star posted multiple clips of herself in the gym today doing squats, weights, and a full body circuit.
Last month, Harry Potter actor Miriam Margolyes caused a stir when she branded the Middlesbrough native “not beautiful”.
Discussing her new show Lost in Scotland, Miriam revealed she preferred to be on stage and claimed she was lucky to have had so many roles on-screen as she’s “not pretty”.
The actress went on to tell Steph that she also wasn’t beautiful but had “something that makes people want to watch” her.
“I’ve got the same, we’re lucky,” she added, implying that it was a good thing.
The presenter took the comment well, and replied: “I think you’re onto something with this though because I think being beautiful is a hindrance.
“So I’m glad I’m not the beautiful one because there’s then so many expectations of you,” she added.
Steph’s Packed Lunch is on weekdays at 12.30pm on Channel 4.
