Benny the Butcher recently sad down with an interview on No Jumper to discuss his relationship with big names including JAY-Z, Drake, Kanye West and Eminem.
One of the tidbits that stood out was when Benny spoke about how JAY-Z was actually one of the first people to have heard his much-anticipated collaboration with Drake. He revealed that the single is expected to drop soon as a freestyle to ready fans and that there is not really any tension between Hov and Drake, “It’s Jay, man he don’t take that shit personal. He gonna be him. Hov gon’ be Hov. None of these n****s could hold a candle to that guy.”
Benny also spoke about not being featured on Kanye West’s DONDA album but offered his congratulations to the Griselda brothers, Westside Gunn and Conway The Machine for making it on, “I’m not on the DONDA album… I don’t think ‘Ye wanted me to be on DONDA, that’s cool. Conway and West on there. Everybody knows that if they on there then I’m on there because that’s gang. I’m still going to fly that flag.” He alludes that he does not think that just because he is closer to the OVO family, that it diminished his chances on getting on DONDA. However, if there is anything that the Chicago listening party taught us, it is that ‘Ye can change his mind at a drop of a hat when it comes to collaborators and features.
