There’s no doubt that New Balance has found a ton of success when it comes to releasing collaborations, but its GR lineup of lifestyle offerings has also garnered a substantial amount of attention this year. One of its assortments that resonated with sneakerheads was the “Protection Pack” that kicked off with the 2002R, but it appears as though it will now be welcoming in the 57/40 as a white colorway has appeared into our midst.
Like the aforementioned 2002R makeups, this forthcoming iteration focuses on the distressed motif. Suede overlays which are stationed around the toe boxes, heels, and at the top of the quarter panels arrive in eroding fashion, all of which are produced with an angelic finish. Accents on these 57/40s are used sparingly but effectively, and show up via bold red hits on the tongue’s branding, blue molds placed on the lower heels and light beige canvas that rests beneath the “N” logos. The chiseled and chunky midsole units are given a vintage-y yellow skin, and come stacked above all-white treading.
No release info has been uncovered at this time, but you can likely expect New Balance to drop these in the coming weeks alongside another colorway.
