Fratello and Straum Unveils the Jan Mayen Limited-Edition Timepiece

Fratello has joined forces with Norwegian micro-watch brand, Straum, for a special limited-edition timepiece: the Fratello × Straum Jan Mayen Limited-Edition watch starring an intense, yet striking lava-red fumé dial.

Over the course of 12 months, both parties have been paving the way to bring this special project to fruition. As a reinterpretation of Straum’s original Opphav model, the resulting timepiece exudes contemporary appeal with its redesigned stainless steel case and bezel, new features, as well as a uniquely integrated bracelet. Visible through the caseback, the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic calibre offers 70 hours of power reserve while beating 28,800 vibrations per hour.

The sleek and bold sports watch comes in a 39mm case size, measuring 11.3mm in thickness, and 45.8mm lug to lug. Its lava-red fumé dial draws inspiration from the rigors of Beerenberg — the stratovolcano that dominates the skyline of Jan Mayen’s island approach. Completing the watch face are luminous and applied indices, alongside matching hour, minute, and second hands.

Priced at $1,725 USD with a delivery time of approximately six months, the timepiece is intended as a Fratello online store-exclusive, and will only be available for pre-order between April 13 from 4 p.m. CEST/11 a.m. EDT, to April 20, 14 p.m. CEST/11 a.m. EDT.
