She might have won I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! but Jill Scott is still planning on heading back to her coffee shop job soon.
The former footballer took out the title in the final on Sunday night, which saw Owen Warner come second and Matt Hancock take out third place.
Even before retiring earlier this year, Jill worked shifts at her fiancée Shelly Unitt’s coffee shop Boxx2Boxx Coffee in Manchester.
The former Lioness has proved she is a team player many times, which only looks set to continue after Jill said she would be returning to her job soon.
‘I’ll definitely be going back in Boxx 2 Boxx,’ she told OK Magazine after leaving the jungle.
‘As soon as the Euros was over I went in because I like to thank them for the support, Shelly has been saying they’ve done hoodies and they’ve been buying them and we’ve given money to charity and they have wanted hot banana water.
‘We have customers that have been so loyal to us and have kept the shop going running, especially through Covid so 100%. Just like the Euros, I’m not going to change who I am. So it will be about getting round there and thanking everyone really.’
While she said she knew she had been crowned, she believed ‘the whole team were winners’.
‘I don’t want to say something cheesy but you’re in there as a team and it’s not like you’re competing against each other so I thought the team was a winner,’ she said.
‘At times, I just felt like I was camping with my friends and that was probably the best part about it really.
‘Without Charlene, Scarlette, Sue making the food, without Seann and Baba making us laugh, Boy George waking us up with his singing. If I had been in there on my own I wouldn’t have survived.’
Capturing the nation’s heart during her time in the jungle, Jill scored 57.66% of the vote with the title coming between her and Owen, after Matt Hancock finished in third place.
In the head-to-head Jill won the lion’s share of the vote, with 57.7 per cent to Owen’s 42.3 per cent.
A total of 10.1m viewers also tuned into the finale.
As she was being crowned Jill said she ‘couldn’t believe it’, but that the group of celebrities were ‘one big team’.
‘I don’t think there should be one winner, we couldn’t have got through it without all of us,’ she said.
However once she returns home, aside from work, Jill will also be busy planning her wedding, after getting engaged in 2020.
‘We got engaged two years ago and Covid hit us, so I think we do need to get some planning in place. It will be nice,’ she told Mail Online.
‘We need to sit down and just catch up on the last five weeks and what’s happened but obviously getting engaged, the next plan is to get wed.’
I’m A Celebrity’s Coming Out Special airs on Thursday at 9.15pm on ITV.
