I fear my sons will be taken into care as they don’t shower at their mum’s house – The Sun

DEAR DEIDRE: MY sons live with their mum – my ex – and I’m worried sick about them.

They are seven and nine. My ex and I are in our thirties.

At first we worked well together over their welfare. I have them to stay as often as I can given my fireman shifts.

But now they go to school scruffy and smelly and say they only shower at mine. The school nearly referred them to social services. They seem only to eat takeaways at their mum’s and have had holes in their shoes for weeks.

I would like to have the boys live with me and my new partner but I fear they’ll be taken into care if I say anything.

DEIDRE SAYS: Their mum may be depressed but your sons must be very unhappy. They risk being bullied too.

Your sons shouldn’t end up in care with their dad ready and able to look after them.
