As season seven is nearing the end, we all know that mean one thing… The parents are coming in.

Year on year this part of the show proves popular with viewers, with fans all desperate to find out what the contestants' nearest and dearest think of their other halves.

From awkward moments and stern talking to's to flirtatious nans and famous relatives, it always makes excellent TV and it's arguably one of the most wholesome parts of the whole show.

This year is also set to be a corker, given the drama that's unfolded over the last week, and we cannot wait to see what happens.

Until then, take a look at some of Love Island's best 'meet the parents' moments:

Olivia Buckland's nan flirting with Alex Bowen

Though now known as Mrs Bowen, back in 2016, Essex girl Olivia Buckland was fresh into her relationship with now-husband Alex Bowen, after meeting on Love Island.

When her mum and grandma entered the villa, the islander burst into tears and ran to hug them.

Despite her nan's cheeky flirtatious comments towards hunky Alex, the Birmingham model and labourer won over the Bucklands with his warm personality.

Talking about Olivia's connection with Alex, her mum said: "You can see how you're on the same wavelength and you can just see the connection you just know.

"We've been watching all of it and I just know."

It turns out she was bang on the money, as the pair have been married since 2018 and gone on to build an empire together.

Ched Uzor's very fashionable parents

In 2020, Winter Love Island saw Ched Uzor and Jessica Gale make it to fourth place.

When their parents walked into the Love Island villa together, fans were quick to comment on just how drippy the Nigerian-born contestant's parents looked.

"Ched’s parents came to the villa with fashionnnnns", said one viewer, with another adding "Ched’s parents have sauce man, they were dripping walking into the villa."

The couple caused such a stir on social media over their amazing outfits that fans were urging them to release their own fashion line.

The wholesome moment definitely made it clear where Ched got his own sharp fashion sense from.

Danny Dyer calls the Love Island villa

Dani Dyer received a video call from her parents before she won Love Island in 2019, alongside her now ex-boyfriend Jack Fincham.

The Love Island winner is famously the daughter of EastEnder actor Danny Dyer, who sat next to wife Jo Mas as they spoke to their daughter.

Dad Danny gave Jack his seal of approval as he said: "He's lovely, you know what, you've found a right proper geezer in there."

As Jack joined the call, he admitted to Danny he was "nervous to meet" him, but Danny reassured him that their connection was "a beautiful thing."

However despite being the winning couple, pair split and both have one child with other partners.

Game of Thrones star Tamer Hassan headed into the villa

Belle Hassan's dad was credited for his roles in films The Football Factory and The Business, as well as appearing in Game of Thrones.

Belle rushed to hug her dad when he entered the villa, while her mum joked: "Do I get a cuddle?"

The blonde bombshell once said of her famous dad: “He is my link to the famous world.

"He is a very supportive dad, he is like my best friend and is always there for me.”

Anton Danyluk's mum handing Belle a razor

Anton's mum entered the villa with a razor as Anton famously admitted his mum shaved his bum.

She tells Belle: "I have a wee present for you" before handing over the razor as Belle joked "I'll need that!"

But, the pair soon split as Belle was reportedly fed up with Anton's partying ways, stating in an interview he "loved Craig David" more than he did her.

Amber finds out the whole of Wales is rooting for her

Amber's family flew in from Wales and she couldn't help but break down into tears as she hugged her parents when they entered the villa.

The star revealed in the beach hut: "I'm literally speechless and they were both just crying their eyes out and I was crying it was just so emotional."

Her parents informed Amber how the whole of Wales was rooting for her.

Since winning the 2017 season alongside Kem Cetinay, Amber has gone on to become a West End star, landing a leading role in Dolly Parton's 9 to 5, before moving on to the theatre production of Bring It On alongside Louis Smith.

Molly-Mae's mum announcing her engagement

Molly-Mae's mum and sister surprised her in the villa and her mum joked "he's too good for you", which Molly replied "just because you want him."

But, her mum had another surprise in store as she hinted to her daughter: "Something's changed about me."

And as Molly-Mae noticed the ring on her mum's finger, she celebrated and yelled "finally!"

Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury were runner's up in 2019 and are still together.
