Valentine’s Day will look a little differently to some couples this year as they will have no choice but to stay in, instead of treating their loved one to an evening out. However, UK supermarkets have got everything they need to make a feast at home just as special as a meal in a restaurant.
Marks and Spencer has re-launched a few of its favourite Valentine’s Day foods, ahead of Sunday.
Yesterday, the M&S Love Sausage was back in stores.
A long, heart-shaped sausage, the limited-edition Love Sausage comes in two different flavours.
There is the normal Love Sausage and the ‘Spice up your’ Love Sausage.
The ‘Spice up your’ Love Sausage is a new addition to M&S’s Valentine’s Day collection.
It hit stores for the first time yesterday.
Unlike the normal Love Sausage, it is made using a thick cut chili chorizo sausage.
Wrapped in a sweet and smoky bacon, it is also glazed in a spicy chili sauce.

M&S recommends serving the chorizo sausage with a zesty salsa.
The food retailer’s salsa recipe involves chopping avocado, coriander, and cherry tomatoes, before adding them to a zingy lime juice and mixing the ingredients together.
This salsa makes a perfect side dish to the sausage.
However, if spicy food is not for you, the normal Love Sausage is just as delicious, says M&S.
The “iconic” Love Sausage, which was first launched in 2019, is made from a traditional pork sausage.
“It has been a top selling seasonal Valentine’s product ever since,” says M&S.
The normal Love Sausage costs £6, while its spicy equivalent is £6.50.
As well as the ‘Spice up your’ Love Sausage, the food retailer has introduced another new Valentine’s Day product to stores.
The M&S ‘I Love My’ Crumpets were launched yesterday and come in a pack of four for £1.25.
The crumpets are heart-shaped and would make the perfect Valentine’s brunch.
Another crumpet option is available in stores: heart-shaped again, but this time filled with cheese and marmite.
Other M&S Valentine’s Day products include a chocolate cream, Walnut Love Whips, and a heart-shaped cucumber.
M&S also has a dine-in meal deal for two, which includes a starter, main, side, dessert, chocolate, and a choice of wine or a soft drink – all for just £20.
