The Hills is officially back with The Hills: New Beginnings. The show premiered on Monday and took us back down memory lane with some of the characters that we’ve gotten to know and once held dear.

Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, Stephanie Pratt, Whitney Port, Frankie Delgado, Brody Jenner, and Jason Wahler returned to the show. Delgado, Jenner, and Wahler all brought their wives Jennifer Acosta, Kaitlynn Jenner, and Ashley Wahler along for the ride. Audiences also may have recognized two new faces, actress Mischa Barton and Tommy Lee and Pamela Anderson’s son, Brandon Lee joined the cast as well.
But notably missing from Monday night was the show’s narrator and initial main character, Lauren Conrad.
The biggest difference between the original show and ‘New Beginnings’
Obviously, the show was different without Conrad on the roster.
“Lauren narrated the entire show before,” Brody recently told
HollywoodLife of the differences between the shows. “This, I feel has an entirely different feel. There’s more camera time and things like that with cast members and you get to see different dramas. It’s a whole different format for the show which is really cool. Kind of hard to get used to but it definitely adds a different element for viewers to see.”
In addition to missing Conrad, several members of the cast have shifted their priorities since we saw them last. Montag and Spencer, Patridge, Port, Wahler, and Delgado all have children to think about now.

What does Conrad think of the reboot?
Even though Conrad is not a part of the show, it’s only natural to wonder what the star thinks of the reboot of her old series.
Before signing on to do the show, Delgado and Acosta reached out to Conrad to see how she felt.
“Lauren’s a really close friend of Jennifer’s,” Delgado told Entertainment Tonight. “She’s a sweetheart. I think she wants what’s best for us. I think she’s that kind of person. She wishes me the best. I don’t think she has anything against the show. I think… she’s moved on to bigger and better things.”

While Port didn’t speak to Conrad herself, she did talk to people who are close to the former reality star.
“I didn’t talk to her, but I feel like I talked to someone that knows her and I think she was still really excited for us all to do it,” she told the outlet. “And she’s in such a different place in her life, you know? Like, I think she’s probably just feeling like, I don’t know, she’s about to have a baby, wants some quiet time at home. Hopefully, she’ll watch and be entertained by it.”
Conrad is currently pregnant with her second child with her husband, William Tell.
Though Conrad has not filmed for the first season, maybe we will get to see a cameo from her down the line. One can only hope, right?
