Meghan Markle may have guest edited the all-important September issue of British Vogue, but you won’t catch her on the cover.
“From the very beginning, we talked about the cover — whether she would be on it or not,” the publication’s editor-in-chief, Edward Enninful, explained. “In the end, she felt that it would be in some ways a ‘boastful’ thing to do for this particular project. She wanted, instead, to focus on the women she admires.”
So instead of a new photo of the 38-year-old Duchess of Sussex, the “Forces for Change”-themed issue is fronted by 15 diverse female change-makers selected by Markle, including New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, actress and LGBTQ+ advocate Laverne Cox, body positivity warrior Jameela Jamil and actresses/activists Salma Hayek and Jane Fonda.
In this week’s episode of “Royal Roundtable,” we’re catching you up on everything you might have missed regarding Markle’s major editing gig, from the prim and proper (and very pricey) Gucci dress she wears inside the issue to the lowdown on her upcoming fashion line.
