A woman was stunned when she found out her rescue dog listened to nothing but Spanish commands.
Kalee McGee said Max, a four-year-old Chihuahua, seemed to have done training with his previous owner but she struggled to get the full gist of it.
"So we are trying to get him to sit, trying to get him to do stuff for weeks and we can’t figure out why he won’t listen to us," she said in her TikTok video.
"But we figured it out…he only speaks Spanish!
"Our little Chihuahua doesn't know English and he's been looking at us like 'what are you talking about?'"
To show her viewers what she meant, Kalee turns the camera to Max and asks him to come over in English.
The confused pooch remains unmoved until he hears "aqui", only going to his owner when hearing "here" in Spanish.
He also understands "siéntate" and sits down right by her feet instead of "sit".
Kalee lets out a chuckle and praises Max for being a "buen chico" (good boy), which the dog responds by wagging his tail.

The shocking discovery came after Kalee and her partner trying to get Max to sit on the stairs by speaking in other languages.
She explained: "We tried German but it didn't work then Mike, my partner, said 'Obviously he's Mexican. Let's speak Spanish.'
"We tried and it worked, Max sat immediately."
Kalee's clip went viral with more than 4.7 million views and she was praised by other dog lovers for "keeping Max connected to his culture".
A viewer said: "He looks so happy to hear he's a good boy!"
Another shared: "Oh my God I love it!
"My cousins just adopted a dog and are actively trying to learn Japanese to communicate with him due to his previous home. So funny!"
Kalee said she will use a language app to help speed up her take on Spanish.
