Dan Walker reassured fans he felt “safe and secure” as he got back in the saddle after his horrific crash last month.
The former BBC Breakfast presenter, 46, previously revealed he had been knocked off his bike by a car as he revealed his bloodied and bruised face on social media.
While riding around his hometown in the heart of Sheffield, the star was knocked down and sustained several injuries which forced him to take a break from his presenting duties to recover.

On Tuesday (March 21) the broadcaster, who left the BBC to join 5 News last year, took to Instagram to share an image of himself riding his new bike in the heart of London.
He wrote: “Got back on the bike for the first time today and felt safe and secure with no flashbacks.
“New bike, new helmet… just disappointed I didn’t manage to match the socks to the frame [cry-laughing emoji].”
After his horrific incident, the former Strictly Come Dancing star kept his followers up to date with his recovery on social media, as he announced his return to Channel 5 just 10 days after the accident.
When he returned to the studios, the presenter revealed he had been using videos of his 2021 Strictly experience with his former dance partner Nadiya Bychkova to test himself for concussion.
Speaking to Jeremy Vine, he confessed: “So I watch some of my old dancing (videos) back and then I pause them and I was testing my brain and my body to think, ‘Does my brain know the next move is and can my body remember it?’ And it did on every single occasion.
“So I told Nadiya that she’s helped me with my recovery from this accident, so Strictly does help even years after.”

However, Dan – who said he almost died in the accident – hit back at the GB News star and called him out for giving him “a lesson on bitterness”.
