Naughty Boy is one of this year’s famous I’m A Celebrity lineup.

The Watford-born music producer is a pretty big deal in the UK garage and hip hop scene – wonder if Richard Madeley has heard of him?

Naughty Boy – real name Shahid Khan – has worked with the likes of Emili Sande, Chipmunk and Wiley and released his debut album Hotel Cabana in 2013, which featured Ed Sheeran and Gabrielle.

Other than his musical accolades though, Naughty Boy is best known for some long-standing beef with One Direction. A brave move, really.

Eeven now, seven years after the boyband went on an indefinite hiatus, One Direction fans are still holding a grudge against Naughty Boy.

So what’s the issue? Here’s all you need to know about Naughty Boy’s fallout with the 1D lads.

I'm A Celeb One Direction fan fallout

Seven years after the row, One Direction fans still recall the drama and are even vowing to vote to make sure Naughty Boy does the most gruesome challenges in the hit ITV show.

One fan said: “My inner 15 year old still holds a grudge against Naughty Boy bc of the beef between him, Zayn and Louis so I will be voting for him to do the trials as revenge.”

Another added: "I’m 100% voting for Naughty Boy for challenges, THIS IS FOR YOU ZAYN, I GOT YOU.”

A third raged: "Yeah f*** off Naughty Boy still not forgiven you for what you did to One Direction."

How did it all start?

It all started back in 2015 when Zayn Malik made the utterly devastating announcement that he was leaving One Direction in order to live the life of an “ordinary 22-year-old”.

It was a dark day for One Directioners – some even threatened to self-harm and the news prompted 4,600 tweets a minute on Twitter.

Zayn, 28, said at the time: “My life with One Direction has been more than I could ever have imagined.

"But, after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band.

“I'd like to apologise to the fans if I've let anyone down, but I have to do what feels right in my heart."

That was all very meaningful but just a few days later, the errant singer was spotted in the studio with Naughty Boy – whoops.

It then emerged that Zayn had signed to RCA records, signalling that he wasn't just taking a break he was fully intending to launch a solo career.

With rumours swirling, Naughty Boy, 36, shared an old Soundcloud recording featuring Zayn Malik, and fans assumed it was a preview of Zayn's solo work, which prompted Louis to lose it.

Louis said: “Wow @NaughtyBoyMusic you're so inconsiderate pal, seriously how f**king old are you? Grow up! #masterofallwisdom.

"I was talking about the video you tweeted. Clearly trying to wind the fans up! Well, you succeeded anyway. Fair play (sic)."

Things got heated quickly

What followed was a series of bitter barbs online with Louis mocking a picture of Naughty Boy and Zayn and Naughty Boy implying that Louis could not sing.

Louis tweeted: “Remember when you were 12 and you used to think those Mac filters for your pictures were cool haha! Some people still do HA!”

The comment was referring to a pixelated picture that Naughty Boy shared but he quickly retaliated with: “Some people can’t even sing… but who is complaining when there’s autotune eh?”

It gets better.

Hot-headed Louis, 29, then hit back by saying he forgot that Naughty Boy was such “an in-demand producer” and that he was “riding on the back of someone else’s career”.

Then Zayn waded in and said to Louis: “Remember when you had a life and stopped making b****y comments about mine?”

Hope you're keeping up!

No one was willing to let it go

Naughty Boy said that Louis had been riding on the crest of someone else’s fame for the past five years and that he had worked with the likes of Emili Sande and Sam Smith.

To add to the drama, Sam Smith then unfollowed Naughty Boy.

Things went quiet for a while – then Naughty Boy did an interview and warned Louis not to mess with a “sleeping lion” and shockingly Zayn came out and called the producer a “fat joke” who was “pretending they were friends”.

Naughty Boy kept a relatively dignified silence but did admit to the Sun on Sunday that he was hurt by Zayn’s words and that he can “deal with what he said but he knows the hate I’ve had to endure for him is the bit that upset me”.

He added: “That’s not the way I know Zayn speaks, even face to face. At first, I definitely thought he had been hacked. The fat joke thing wasn’t necessary and he’s getting a lot of backlash for that because a lot of his fans don’t look like Selena Gomez.”

Even more drama

Louis then completely smashed up a pinata with Naughty Boy's face on it at a One Direction concert in Kansas City. Liam Payne also sat on it.

However, Niall Horan and Harry Styles didn’t seem to want to get involved.

We don’t blame them.

Since then Naughty Boy has remained silent on the subject so it remains to be seen if any juice about the feud will come out in the jungle (or castle).
