A crew member has died on location of the new Indiana Jones film, it has been reported.

The 54-year-old crew member was one of 100 brought to the set to work on a tricky stunt for the Hollywood blockbuster.

He has been named by The Sun as Nic Cupac.

Mr Cupac was tragically found dead in his hotel in Fes, Morocco, and he is thought to have died of natural causes.

The crew had been flown out to work on a complicated stunt involving a rickshaw.

Friends have been paying tribute to the late crew member.

One wrote: “I’m heartbroken. Nic was such a lovely man.”

Another added: “One of the very best — taught me so much when I was starting out.”

Days before his death, the crew were seen rehearsing the dramatic stunt.

According to his work profile on IMDB, Cupac also worked on huge titles such as Guardians Of The Galaxy, and Solo: A Star Wars Story.

The film has already been hit by setbacks, including star Harrison Ford injuring himself.

He needed surgery after the injury during a stunt, meaning filming had to be delayed by three months.

The release of the sequel has been pushed back until 2023, along with many other Disney and Marvel titles.

After the delay due to injury, it was hoped that things were getting back to normal on set.

However, filming hit another snag after Morocco banned flights to and from the UK due to rising Covid cases.

Cast including Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge were due to fly to the country after they finished shooting in Italy.

The bosses were left with a difficult decision about whether to fly the crew home before the ban came in, or wait and figure out how to get them home.

A source from the film said: “The flight ban left everything totally up in the air.

“It’s not clear what will happen once the scene is completed, but they could be granted a special exemption to fly home.”

As well as Italy, they have also been filming in London, Glasgow and Northumberland.
