Paris Hilton floors fans with real voice as she admits to playing a character

Paris Hilton is known around the globe after her string of reality television appearances, but she has now revealed her 'dumb blonde' persona has been an act the entire time.

She released documentary I Am Paris last year, in which she down played the public image that has followed her for years as she confessed that she had been 'playing a character all along'.

The socialite now seems eager to part ways with this image of herself as she made claims that she wants her fans to know the 'real' her.

Paris was one the most famous celebrities in the LA socialite scene during the 2000s, with her high-profile relationship with her at the time assistant Kim Kardashian being widely well-documented.

With a string of reality TV shows bringing the well known persona to the public eye.

Her own show, The Simple Life, saw her star alongside her childhood friend Nicole Richie and ditzy blonde moments further consolidated the public image associated with her 'character' of Paris Hilton.

It was widely assumed to be her authentic self, but it turns out to have all been a charade – even down to her voice.

Speaking to 7News while promoting her documentary, Paris confessed: "This entire time I have been playing a character so the world has never truly known who I am."

She continued: "I feel it's time for the world to finally know how I was. I feel that I've been through so much."

Paris went on to admit that she doesn't want her 'legacy' to downplay the reality of who she is. She said: "The real me is someone who is actually brilliant. I'm not a dumb blonde, I'm just really good at pretending to be one.

"I don't want to be remembered for some airhead, but the businesswoman I am."

In both the 7News interview and her documentary, Paris can be heard using a voice much deeper than the high-pitched one she is known for.

Many people took to social media in shock, with floods of fans heading to Twitter to express how much they liked the authentic Paris.

One person wrote: "I will never get over Paris Hilton’s real voice, like on who her voice is really that deep?!?!"

Another tweeted: "Let’s take a quick second to applaud Paris Hilton and her journey. She gets to do things like use her real voice now."
