1923 is coming to Paramount Plus soon and the Yellowstone prequel stars legendary actors Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. Following on from the success of 1883, the series is the sixth Paramount has invested in with Taylor Sheridan. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about what time it will air.

What time is 1923 out?

1923 follows a new generation of Duttons as they tackle hardships such as Western Expansion and the Great Depression.

Harrison Ford stars as Jacob Dutton, the patriarch of the Yellowstone ranch, with Helen Mirren as his wife Cara.

The series is expected to run for two seasons, each containing eight episodes.

The trailer shows Cara telling a potential enemy they have “no rights” on Yellowstone land.

Jacob is heard saying: “A ranch war has already started” as he points a gun at a fellow rancher.

Paramount Plus has a general release time for new titles, which is 12am Pacific Time.

This would be 3am Eastern Time for those watching elsewhere in the US.

For those watching in the UK, the series is airing the following day, with episodes available from 7am.

The episodes are likely to air weekly, as is the case with the original Yellowstone series.

As the trailer continues, viewers learn the Yellowstone valley is under threat.

A feisty Cara makes clear she is not afraid to kill anyone who stands in the family’s way.

A glimpse of John Dutton (Kevin Costner) is seen in his ancestor Jacob when he says: “Tell the world what happens when they cross me.”

Cara warns: “Greed will be the thing that kills us all,” as battle scenes from the First World War follow.

The Duttons are not the only family to feature in the series, as early-generation Rainwaters are also introduced.

Viewers will meet Teonna Rainwater (Aminah Nieves), a young woman at a government residential boarding school.

As viewers catch a glimpse at the Yellowstone ranch as it looks in the original series, Jacob warns: “If you attack my family, it’s going to be the last thing you ever do.”

Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren explained whether they have received any advice from Kevin Costner.

Speaking to E! Insider, Harrison said: “In a word, no. It’s a cute idea. I respect Kevin enormously and the work he is doing in Yellowstone.

“I’m on my own path so we haven’t had a chance to catch up but I’m looking forward to it.”

Helen said she has always been fascinated by American history, especially the American West.

She said: “I was so blown away by the realisation and the effort, the courage and the struggle of that.

“American history is very alive and very present, we are talking about a generation who is basically my grandparents.

“I feel it’s within reach of me.”

1923 airs on December 18 in the US on Paramount Plus. Fans in the UK can watch from December 19.
