A Place in the Sun fans were thrilled when the series returned with new episodes last Monday as the team of Channel 4 experts set out to find prospective buyers their dream properties. Speaking to Express.co.uk, presenter Ben Hillman detailed the busy filming schedule the team have to stick to.
Ben joined the Channel 4 series back in 2015.
He has been a regular ever since and revels in the challenge of finding house hunters their dream property within their budget.
Although the Covid pandemic proved to be an obstacle for many TV shows, A Place in the Sun continued to film new episodes whenever possible.
Ben explained the team of presenters are often all filming in different locations around Europe at the same time.

He said: “Sometimes we’ve got four or five, maybe during Covid times we had six, teams on the road at one time.
“So that was five or six shows being made that was really pushing it.
“Ordinarily it’s probably around four shows filmed every week so when you multiply that up we do get a lot of work down in a short space of time.
“It’s lovely that the demand is there for the show and people’s appetite for it is never-ending really.”
“That insatiable desire to watch a bit of sunshine and beach on telly and escape the rain,” he added.
Ben teased A Place in the Sun offers the “perfect combination” for British viewers.
“We have an obsession over here with property it is the British obsession,” Ben joked.
“It’s the weather and property that’s got to be the two British obsessions.

“So I think when you mix weather and property it’s the perfect combination.
“I really think that is probably the secret to its success.”
In this series, Ben is joined by Craig Rowe, Leah Charles-King, Jasmine Harman and Laura Hamilton.
Jean Johannsson, Danni Menzies and Sara Damergi will also be hosting this series.
Meanwhile, Ben admitted it was “rare” for all of the presenters to “get together at the same time”.
“Well we do in airports,” he joked. “We live far and wide as well. I’m down on the south coast, there are a few in London and Scotland so we’re dotted about.
“Although there have been the odd Channel 4 party or Christmas parties, which is lovely just to get together and exchange stories which is always good fun.”
A Place in the Sun airs on Channel 4 on weekdays at 4pm.
