Amanda Holden claims Phillip Schofield 'blocked her from hosting This Morning'

Amanda Holden has claimed that Phillip Schofield blocked her from securing a number of high-profile presenting roles – including a spot on This Morning.

The 48-year-old Britain’s Got Talent judge, who’s daughter banned her from attending her school sports day, alleged that the host branded her ‘difficult to work with’ and roped in Rochelle Humes to star alongside him instead.

‘Phillip actively campaigned for Rochelle Humes to get the job despite Amanda being more experienced — and having been told privately she’d got the gig,’ a former daytime television executive told The Sun on Sunday.

‘She feels Phil unfairly used his powers of persuasion.

‘She was told he’d chosen Rochelle because she was easier to “manage” on air – and understandably that incensed her.’

It has also been alleged that Amanda had been lined up to replace Ant McPartlin on last year’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! only to have the role scooped by Holly Willoughby.

‘Amanda was so excited,’ an insider revealed at the time. ‘So she was shocked when execs told her they couldn’t follow through with the offer.

‘[Producers] let slip the decision had been influenced by Schofield.’

A spokesperson for ITV said: ‘Presenter line-ups on This Morning change regularly. Final decisions are made by producers, not presenters.

‘Phillip is a much-loved broadcaster and part of the ITV family. He’s a consummate professional.

‘Amanda is also held in high regard as a judge on one of our biggest shows.’

Earlier this month Amanda resparked her feud with Phil by slamming him during a quickfire question session on Heart Radio.

When asked about three things she doesn’t want to find in her home, Amanda quickly replied: ‘Spiders, flies and Phillip Schofield.’ has reached out to Amanda Holden and Phillip Schofield’s reps for comment.
