Ben Shephard leaves Tipping Point viewers swooning with his festive outfit

Ben Shephard sent fans into meltdown as he dressed as a shepherd for a Christmas edition of Tipping Point.

The 46-year-old television star looked very festive as he dressed up as a shepherd for the Christmassy episode of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars.

Ben wore a long striped robe with a hood and some rope tied around his waist as a belt.

Viewers were left swooning over his outfit, which was complete with a shepherds crook.

One said: "Loving the festive episodes of @TippingPointITV, especially @benshephard as an actual shepherd."

While another gushed: "Oooooo ben Shephard in that outfit that zips down (sorry, UP) from the top to the bottom though."

"Did Ben wear a shirt under that costume asking for a friend", added a third.

Others weren't fans of his costume, as one tweeted: "Even Ben couldn't be a**** to get dressed for this."

While another wrote: "Ben Shepherd in a nightie carrying a crook and a stuffed sheep really isn't what I need just now."

Yesterday's episode of Tipping Point saw Ben Shephard forced to defend himself after he branded Lesley Joseph's answer "rubbish".

The 75-year-old Birds Of A Feather actress left the audience in fits of giggles as she let slip a hilarious wrong answer.

Ben asked: "Associated with Christmas, which specific species of deer is known as a Caribou in North America?"

Without pausing to think, Lesley guessed "Bambi" – rather than the correct answer of "reindeer".

Ben joked that Lesley’s effort had been a disappointment, only for the audience to collectively make an "aww" sound.

He said: "I can’t give you that one, I’m afraid."

Turning to the crowd, Ben quipped: "Don't 'aww' me. That was rubbish", in the hilarious moment.

Tipping Point airs weekdays at 4pm on ITV.
