Watch out Walford… the bitch is back.
Show legend Charlie Brooks, 40, has returned to EastEnders.
The actress will be playing scheming Janine Butcher again after seven years away.
Staff took her to the set in a car with blacked-out windows to keep it top secret.
And our exclusive photos show Charlie being taken home after a day of filming at the soap’s set in Elstree, Herts, last Tuesday.
Insiders say she will be involved in one of the biggest storylines of the year.
During her time on the show, Janine has killed a string of men including hubby Barry Evans, inset, played by Shaun Williamson. Charlie signed up to return because she enjoys playing the character so much.
She said: “I love Janine. I think it’s really important to sympathise with your characters and for me she became so layered.
“I honestly believe she’s totally misunderstood in so many ways, although she does get more and more difficult to defend. But that is where all the juicy stuff is.”
An official announcement about Charlie’s return is set to be made within weeks.

Previously talking about the roll, Charlie said: "People love to hate her, don’t they?” she says of Janine.
“Or maybe they just hate her! But she’s so much fun to play, and I often think about where she might be and what she might be up to…”
While she is yet to officially comment on her return, the actress has admitted she loved seeing the excitement from fans when the rumour mill kicked off.
“What was amazing [to see] was to see all the love from the fans," she added to The Sun.
"Going back is always something I think about, of course. And people still want to talk about me pushing Barry off the cliff, nearly 20 years later.
“The beautiful thing about Janine is, she’s very layered, so you can take her off in any direction. So never say never.

“I feel in such a fortunate position with EastEnders and the BBC, and with a character we can always explore and have fun with.”
Janie was initially introduced to Albert Square in 1989 by actress Rebecca Michael.
She was then played by Alexia Demetrio for three years from 1993.
But it was the third rival when Charlie took on the role in 1999 that helped turn her into one of TV's best loved characters
