Coronation Street has confirmed the return of a character in a new backstage photo, on the ITV soap’s Instagram .
Fiz Brown will be back on the Cobbles very soon if the latest spoiler snap is anything to go by.
Shared on the profile on Saturday, it means the scenes were filmed this week, and with episodes usually filmed around six weeks in advance we can assume the character will be back at the start of next month, if not the end of August.
Jennie McAlpine will be reprising the role of Tyrone Dobbs’ partner, after taking maternity leave at the end of last year.
In the new snap, Fiz is sat down at the table with Tyrone and his grandmother Evelyn Plummer, appearing to be having some tea.
There’s also a mystery woman in the scene who doesn’t appear to have been identified as of yet, so could she head back to Weatherfield with the returnee?
Actress Jennie and her husband Chris Farr welcomed their second child in October, while her final scenes on the soap aired in December.
There was drama between Fiz and Tyrone’s grandmother Evelyn before she left, so will they be able to clear the air when she returns?
Evelyn is still living with Tyrone so Fiz better get used to her being around.
Fiz’s daughter Hope also left the Cobbles with her, so the youngster will no doubt be back on the Cobbles too.
Viewers were quick to notice Fiz in the scene, realising she was coming back.
One viewer tweeted: “Omg the fizz bombs back @jenniemcalpine i have missed you on screen x.”
Others agreed as they speculated who the mystery newcomer was in the scene with her.
Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
