Corrie bosses unveil how Tyrone and Alina kissed without breaking lockdown rules

Coronation Street bosses have unveiled how Tyrone and Alina were able to kiss in Friday's dramatic episode of the ITV soap.

Viewers were perplexed as they saw the character share a passionate smooch and many wondered how they were able to kiss amid lockdown restrictions.

ITV has now explained some filming secrets as they said that they used a real life couple as kissing doubles.

Regular Corrie extra Alex Mulvaney and his wife Hannah stepped in as kissing doubles for the sizzling scenes.

Revealing all about his role, Alex said: "My agent said that Coronation Street needed extras who were in a support bubble.

"Hannah hadn't done any extra work before, but my agent knew she had dark hair like Alina’s so I asked her if she wanted to do it.

"She was nervous at first, but she is a big Coronation Street fan. I had been on set many times before, and I was able to talk her through what to expect and she was a bit starstruck when she saw the actors."

Alex's dad has also been a regular on the cobbles as an extra for 42 years.

"He pops up in Roys Rolls on occasions, now with my mum, brother and sister all joining as extras. It’s quite the family affair!", Alex continued.

Producer Iain MacLeod explained: "For the most part, our brilliant writers, cast and crew have cleverly worked around the inability of our characters to get within two metres of each other.

"We have therefore told the same stories throughout the pandemic that we would have told in “normal” times.

"But it just felt wrong to tell a story of an illicit liaison, where someone betrays their partner based on lust and sexual attraction, only for us not to see any of the chemistry and closeness. Hence the smoke and mirrors here!"

Corrie spoilers have revealed that Fiz will learn Tyrone has developed feelings for Alina and she'll try desperately to win him back.

In the garage, Fiz will appear and propose to Tyrone, revealing she has booked them a Greek wedding.

When Tyrone doesn’t say anything in response, she runs out in humiliation, prompting him to tell Chesney he has fallen for Alina.

Tyrone vows to stay by his family, but Fiz is seething at Alina and confronts her on the street, ordering her to stay away from her man.

Can Tyrone and Fiz make it through this rough patch?

Coronation Street airs on Mondays and Wednesdays 7.30pm and 8.30pm with an hour long episode at 7.30 on Fridays on ITV.
