Roy Cropper stunned fans as he revealed sleek new tresses on Wednesday night’s episode of Coronation Street.
Roy, played by David Neilson, debuted a shorter cut than fans are used to, and they reacted in their droves on social media.
One wrote: “Loving Roy’s hair, has he been to #trimupnorth”.
Another wrote: “Loving the haircut Roy!! It's taken years off you”.
Other fans wondered where the male cast members had their haircuts, writing: “Has Roy had his locks cut. I wonder where he got that done?"
One fan simply wrote: “the haircut is great!”
And another viewer commented on the difference, writing: “David the barbershop owner with the worst hair while Ryan, Nick, Roy have had their hair cut.”
Roy is currently in the middle of a heartbreak storyline involving his niece Nina who was attacked by a gang of thugs in a hate crime incident based on the real-life tragic murder of Sophie Lancaster.
The 72-year-old actor spoke to The Sun about how his character will react to the devastating attack on his beloved niece.
He said: “I think as Roy, the rational person that he is, living by this moral code, he would believe in rationality and the system to care of it. But if something happens, like all of us really, if something happens to me and mine, I think he’s capable of anything.
He continue to wonder if Roy would break bad and resort to violence, saying: “I think he could be quite dangerous. I remember him attacking Gary Windass with a baseball or cricket bat!”

David has played Corrie’s favourite cardigan wearing café owner Roy since 1995.
He recently spoke to Metro.co.uk about how Nina actress Mollie Gallagher would cope with the hard hitting storyline she’s involved in.
He said: “I was thinking I wonder how this is going to be, this is major. I was like, take care of yourself here because this is really horrible, and she’s doing it and she’s interested in everything that is going on.”
Coronation Street is on ITV Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7.30pm & 8.30pm.
