Eastenders bosses have been forced to deny that actress Tameka Empson has quit the show as her character leaves Albert Square.
The 42-year-old has played Kim Fox since 2009 but will be taking a break from the soap for undisclosed reasons.
Her departure from Walford has been written into upcoming episodes but bosses of the long-running soap have denied her exit is permanent.
Speaking to Yahoo UK, an EastEnders insider confirmed: “Kim will be back in the future.”
Over the next few episodes, it is believed Kim will tell her on-screen sister Denise, played by Diane Parish, that she is moving to Scotland after accepting a new job.
The link to Scotland comes after Tameka’s character spent time there on an extended holiday earlier this year.
Reports in the Sun suggest the sisters will put their differences aside and part ways on a happy note.
The manner of the on-screen departure will allow for the actress to return to the soap in the future.
