Nancy (played by Maddy Hill) and Frankie (Rose Ayling-Ellis) have been at loggerheads for months now after the former found out the latter and Zack Hudson (James Farrar) had covered up the fact that they had accidentally hit her in a car accident. The EastEnders sisters have been playing immature pranks on each other ever since, but Nancy took things too far on Friday when she locked Frankie in the boot of her new car. Monday’s episode of the BBC soap saw a shaken Frankie being found after a night and day left in the car after it was driven away by Liam Butcher (Alfie Deegan). A frightened Liam might threaten Frankie into making an exit so he doesn’t get caught.

The BBC soap left viewers horrified on Friday as Frankie’s fate hung in the balance while she screamed from the boot of the car.

Monday’s episode confirmed that Frankie hadn’t returned all night and remained trapped, although Nancy assumed she’d left herself.

“She’s probably just planning her next epic comeback after what I did to her yesterday,” Nancy told a concerned Mick Carter (Danny Dyer).

“Do I even want to know what this is?” He asked, as Nancy casually told him: “It’s not a big deal.”

She eventually admitted: “Just so you know, I’m literally just getting her back for what she did to me.

“I may or may not have locked her in the boot of her car.”

But Nancy’s anger soon turned to fear as she later realised the consequences of her actions.

Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) worked out her nephew Liam had taken a car as part of their scheme without realising Frankie was trapped in the back.

She set in motion a plan to free Frankie without Liam being caught, and the former soon returned home.

“How could you do that to me?” A distraught Frankie asked her sister.

Janine was relieved Frankie has been brought back home safely, but she might not be out of the woods yet.

Liam might become paranoid that Frankie had worked out he was the one driving her car and might confront her.

Since he returned to Walford, Liam has been making it clear he isn’t someone to be messed with.

Manipulative Janine might find out the true reason behind Nancy and Frankie’s falling out, meaning Liam can threaten Frankie with the police.

Actress Rose is currently taking part in Strictly Come Dancing, so it’s possible a temporary exit for her character was planned in order to explain her absence from the show.

But how long will Frankie leave Albert Square for? It seems as though the Carter family are falling apart as Linda (Kellie Bright) was forced to get away for a while following a clash with Rainie Highway (Tanya Franks).

Could Frankie end up joining her in order to get away from Liam’s threats?

If Liam and Janine try to push Frankie away so their plot isn’t revealed, it’s likely Frankie will make a move.

With tensions between her and sister Nancy worse than ever, she may think she has no reason to stay in Walford.

It doesn’t seem like Nancy will be in for an easy time though, as Mick proved how disgusted he was with her actions.

“It was just a bad joke that went wrong,” she explained to her dad after Frankie returned.

He angrily replied: “You keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better, you took a liberty.”

He added: “Go away Nancy before I seriously lose the plot.”

Once he finds out about Janine and Liam’s involvement, Mick will probably be out for revenge, especially as Janine is working for him as a barmaid at the moment.

But could she begin blackmailing Mick too? He found out Frankie and Zack were behind Nancy’s accident and will want to protect his daughter from getting into trouble with the police.

With the family thrown further into chaos, it seems there might be more trouble ahead for them.

Will Frankie make a permanent exit from the Square, or will she come back to fight off Janine and Liam?

EastEnders continues on Tuesday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
