EastEnders Brian Conley, who plays Tom ‘Rocky’ Cotton, has hinted at a surprise return from an iconic legend to Walford square. Brian opened up about what fans can expect to see over the Christmas period and hinted at a possible return for a much loved and missed character. Brian’s character over the last couple of months has been scamming Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy) into thinking he is her real father when in fact, he is Dotty Cotton’s (Millie Zero) uncle. After feeling guilty over his schemes, he attempted to expose the truth over what he had been doing, however, fell ill with a heart attack.

Speaking to Express.co.uk about his character, Brian Conley opened up on how his character will cope if his true identity is exposed.

He said: “I think he would make a good cup of tea for Dot Branning (June Brown), and probably have another heart attack!”

Brian also spoke about what fans can expect to see in upcoming scenes for the residents of Walford, he said: “Well, we all thought [the letter] was gone, and Dotty had taken it with various spam mail.

“So, he never expected this, there is a total surge of anxiety and panic and the feeling that this is going to ruin not just Christmas but everything, total panic!

“He can’t go there, he is backed in his corner, gone down the rabbit warren, and I don’t think he can even think about it for his own health!

“He is just trying to take one day at a time. I just don’t think he can think about it all in one go, the true implication, otherwise, it’s going to escalate and him having another heart attack.”

Viewers of the BBC soap took to Twitter to express their hopes over what could happen to Rocky over the Christmas period.

Twitter user @HollyWe16626271 wrote: “The fact that Rocky’s downfall is likely to happen before Gray is just…wow #eastenders.”

@amyyy_amy added: “I feel sorry for Sonia and Kathy when they eventually find out about Rocky!! #EastEnders.”

@RyanGTweetsTV also commented: “Rocky and Dotty should be very lucky if Sandy has seen the contents of that letter then she holds all the power, and she’s gonna be the one to blow their cover as Xmas.

“I hope Dotty gets thrown out, she needs to be put in her place.”

Dotty has been helping her mother, Sandy Gibson (Martha Cope), return to the square after struggling with a drug addiction.

In a bid to help her get clean, she put her up in a bedsit and has secretly been supplying her with a limited number of drugs in order to wean her off of them.

Christmas has always been full of drama over the years, and this year will not be a disappointment as many of the residents are set to meet their downfall.

One of which could be Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) as Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) exposes the truth about his murders.

After previously being in a relationship with him, she received a first glimpse of his controlling and abusive behaviour.

Now, as he is set to wed his pregnant fiancé Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams), Gray’s wicked ways could soon be exposed.

After killing Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer), Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White) and Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami), Gray has been pulling many puppet strings.

As Whitney could expose his crimes, the Fox family might be in danger if Gray takes his anger out on the family.

Will Whitney be able to get through to Chelsea, or will she continue to marry Walford’s serial killer?

EastEnders airs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday on BBC One.
