Mackenzie Boyd (played by Lawrence Robb) has stirred up a lot of trouble in Emmerdale ever since his shock arrival. Moira Barton (Natalie J. Robb) is desperate to build a relationship with her brother but the cunning Scotsman may have a sinister revenge plan in mind which could leave the farm owner with nothing.
Speaking to Express.co.uk and other press, Lawrence and Natalie discussed Mackenzie’s motives ahead of his arrival in the village.
Lawrence said: “Mackenzie’s come in with a bit of a chip on his shoulder and he’s got a big story about Moira’s past.
“He’s angry with Moira and he’s decided that he wants to come in and cause a wee bit of havoc for her.
“He wants to make life a little bit more difficult for her because in his eyes, she’s been living the high life.”

“[She’s got an] easy life, four by four, nice big farm, and I’m coming in and going, ‘Well actually no, you’ve got family and you’ve got some issues that you need to deal with, deal with me first.’”
“I think that is the crux of it,” the soap newcomer added.
Will Mackenzie trick Moira into believing she owes him for abandoning him?
Moira explained she had to take the blame for their mother’s affair with their father’s best friend.
Mackenzie had been brought up believing Moira was at fault for the breakdown of their family.
Despite his sister’s explanation, it’s clear Mackenzie is in no hurry to make amends.
Could Lawrence’s hint about Moira’s “big farm” be a huge clue Mackenzie plans to steal her life?
The actor added: “He just wants to cause a bit of havoc for her and make life as difficult as he can.

“He’s got a lot of resentment towards her because she left him when he was when he was younger and he’s got a lot of resentment against her for that.”
“His entire life from the point that Moira has gone he’s been told and it’s been drilled into him that this thing happened and that’s why she left.
“He [had] a preconceived idea of who she’s become.”
Actress Natalie went on to address Moira’s complicated relationship with her brother and ex-husband Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
Natalie was asked if Cain will prevent his ex-wife from bonding with her brother.
She revealed: “I think it’s going to be tricky. Definitely tricky, because like anybody with Cain you never start off on a good footing.
“Again, with how the story will unfold it’s going to be a bit of a roller coaster there, especially for Mackenzie and Cain and Moira and Cain and Mackenzie, so it’s, I would say it’s gonna be a tricky one.”
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV at 7pm.
