Escape to The Chateau season seven will air in the US a year after being shown on UK screens. The hit Channel 4 series has built up a strong following since it began back in 2016, but it seems it’s also picked up fans overseas. Dick Strawbridge updated viewers on the official website of the programme to confirm the latest instalments were going be shown on US channels.

The programme, which centres around Dick Strawbridge, 62 and Angel Adoree, 43, who in 2016 upped sticks and purchased the 45-room Chateau de la Motte Husson in France.

With their two children Arthur and Dorothy in tow, the pair painstakingly revamped the disused chateau and transformed it into a thriving business and home.

There have been highs and lows for the family since they took on the huge challenge, but viewers enjoy being updated along the way.

Now, fans in America can access the ups and downs more easily as the episodes launch on national channels.

A statement on the Escape to the Chateau website reads: “We’re so excited to finally announce that series 7 of Escape to The Chateau is coming to the US!

“We can’t wait… See you there!” Taking to Twitter recently, Dick cleared up what this would mean to his 83,000 followers.

He wrote: “Just to be clear – Escape to the Chateau’s home in the UK is still and will remain Ch4 (& we’ve found homes on other channels around the world…)

“I was clearing up the fact Series 7 onwards will be on Peacock in the US starting 1 October.”

Responding, Honeybee penned: “Phew! Thanks.

“I was getting worried that it was going to a channel I’d not heard of. Didn’t realise it had gone to USA.”

Chambery wrote: “Do you know who will be airing it in Canada? We love Escape to the Chateau.”

“Phew happy days @dickstrawbridge,” Marie Jenkins shared.

Steve Gehrke commented: “Thank you for the information we’re I can find current episodes I AM in the United States and really enjoy watching the show.” (sic)

Fans were other countries were quick to ask whether they’d soon be able to enjoy the same news.

Wendy Hyland asked: “Hi Dick Wendy from Aus here just wondering when we will be seeing you next series down here, love the show and seeing what you all get up to next in your wonderful Chateau. Love to all.”

Chambery echoed this, asking: 2Do you know who will be airing it in Canada? We love Escape to the Chateau.”

Series seven saw the husband and wife team tackling the problems the pandemic threw at their business.

They were able to put their designing skills to work though, by making use of the empty chateau.

Dick tried his hand at making sloe gin, while creative guru Angel made plans to create a library in the tower.

Escape to the Chateau is available to watch on More4.
