Over the course of four months, the Strictly Come Dancing stars have done all they can to impress the judges and viewers at home. And on Saturday, the remaining contestants will take part in the Grand Final. Hamza Yassin is currently the favourite to win and has opened up on his journey.
The documentary-maker has shared how much weight he has lost due to the rigorous training he has done.
Speaking to press including Express.co.uk, Hamza explained: “I’ve lost nearly 13kg.
“My feet are not achy anymore I would say, I’m seeing body parts being defined.
“I’m feeling so much happier. I’m certainly healthier, I’ve lost nearly four to five inches across my waist, this suit was tailor made at the beginning and now I’m wearing a belt.”
Hamza has lost almost two stone over the course of the series.
He previously reduced viewers to tears when he commented on his size after performing the Jive.
During week two, he told host Claudia Winkleman: “I’m just too big to Jive.”
Viewers were left heartbroken by the comment and took to Twitter to share their sadness.
@caitmkearns wrote: “Hamza saying he’s too big to jive NO YOU AREN’T KING !!!”
“No I’m having a little cry at Hamza saying he’s too big for the jive, someone cuddle him immediately,” @KittyLGallagher shared.
While @_sapphicsnix added: “Hamza thinking he’s too big for the jive broke my heart I just wanna give him the biggest hug.”
Ahead of Saturday night’s finale, Hamza spoke on the final It Takes Two and paid tribute to professional partner Jowita Przystal.
Jowita began to cry as Hamza told her: “It would be the icing on the cake. I [told] Jowita when we first met that I would like to go to the final.
“She said two things, ‘Give me your trust and your energy’ – and we are at the final.
“So a trophy would just be the icing on the cake and that’s exactly what she deserves as she’s amazing.”
Hamza is currently 2/5 to win Strictly Come Dancing according to bookmakers.
According to Ladbrokes, Hamza has pulled even further ahead in the betting and is now 2/5 to win, with Helen Skelton a 2/1 shot ahead of Molly Rainford (40/1).
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Fleur entered Strictly as one of the frontrunners to go all the way.
“But the latest odds tell a completely different story as she’ll head into tonight’s finale as the rank outsider.”
Strictly Come Dancing: The Final airs tonight on BBC One at 7.05pm.
