Jenelle Evans and her husband David Eason have been through rough times lately. In February, Eason was fired from Teen Mom 2 because of statements he made on Twitter about gay and transgender people. Then Eason shot and killed Nugget, the family dog, claiming he had been aggressive to their 2-year-old daughter. This led to a parent’s worst nightmare when their kids were removed from the home by Child Protective Services in May. Teen Mom 2 then decided to let Evans go also, prompting concerns about their finances.
The good news for Evans and Eason is that the custody case against them was suddenly dismissed on Wednesday, so they could bring their kids back home. Evans’ 9-year-old son Jace is still in the care of her mother, Barbara.
Things may be looking up for them now, but how did Evans deal with the time she was separated from her kids?

Evans has spent a lot of time looking at old photos and videos of her family. A few weeks after her kids were taken away, she posted a video on YouTube of her family getting chickens. The video was clearly taken before the loss of Nugget and the drama that followed. Watching her adorable kids giving their new chicks kisses was probably comforting for the struggling mom.

Evans talked with her kids on FaceTime when she could. She and Eason even managed to put their difficulties aside with other family members so they could attend the party for her son Kaiser’s 5th birthday. Although Eason and Kaiser’s dad, Nathan Griffith, seem to only have more conflict as time goes on, for one day everyone was able to get along and celebrate the birthday boy.
Going by the pictures and video Evans posted of the day, it gave her a lot of joy to see Kaiser, 2-year-old Ensley, and 9-year-old Jace. She relished the opportunity to be with her kids and watch them play together.

Evans and Eason have had a tumultuous relationship from the beginning. Family and friends have expressed concern that there may be abuse in the relationship. The police have been called to their home 25 times in one year, and Evans even said during a call that Eason had hurt her. With such a painful history, along with the drama of the last few months, you might wonder if Evans would consider ending the relationship.
In the week after Eason shot Nugget, Evans was not speaking to him. She even mentioned the idea of divorcing him. However, she soon started talking to him again, and she said he was being a source of support for her during these difficult times. Within two weeks of that traumatic event, Evans told US Magazine: “I’m working to fix my marriage as well and moving forward.” She’s since talked about seeking marriage counseling.

If the loss of both Eason’s and Evans’ jobs with Teen Mom 2, as well as mounting legal costs, seems like a sure road to financial hardship, don’t worry just yet. Her personal life may look like it’s in shambles, but Evans isn’t out of the game when it comes to business. She started a beauty company, JE Cosmetics, in 2017. She’s been working to rebrand the line, and there seems to be a great deal of interest in it. It’s even being whispered that a major fashion company is working with her so they can do a joint release when she reintroduces the line on September 7th.
Now that most of her children have been returned to her care, Evans’ life will hopefully keep getting better. Although getting fired from Teen Mom 2 is a significant career setback, she still has strong business opportunities ahead of her. If she and Eason can build a stable, healthy relationship and leave the drama behind everyone will benefit.
