Adam Woodyatt has already come under fire for a supposed feud boiling between fellow I’m A Celeb contender Naughty Boy. Viewers believed the EastEnders star made a subtle dig at the record producer ahead of his latest challenge, which could spark into a full-on row when the ITV reality series continues tonight.
The soap celeb’s former co-star Michelle Collins has now commented on how she thinks Adam is handling the pressure.
Chatting to Lorraine Kelly on Wednesday morning, she revealed he had been a source of comfort after her mum sadly passed away earlier this year.
She told the ITV presenter: “I think it’s tough for Adam.
“He’s so keen for everyone to think he’s not like his character.”
“So I’m hoping that people will see a funnier side to Adam in there.”
Adam has portrayed Ian Beale since EastEnders’ first episode in February 1985, making him the longest-serving character in the series.
Since reaching adulthood, Ian has been characterised as one of the soap’s more ‘weaselly’ characters whom viewers love to hate.
However, the real Adam is eager to prove that’s not the case in real life, as Michelle claimed.
Unfortunately, his sarcastic attempt at humour on Sunday could have a blowback effect on his dynamic with Naughty Boy as I’m A Celeb continues.
Before Naughty Boy’s latest trial, Adam mocked his upcoming performance with Olympic diver Matty Lee.
“Sporty Boy is going to do alright,” he said. “I’m not sure how Naughty Boy is going to do.”
The comment was called out by a number of viewers on social media who felt the jibe was smug and unnecessary.

Law and Order fans send tributes as star announces Twitter break [COMMENT]
“What the hell was that @AdamWoodyatt?” Twitter user Jenna Murphy fumed.
“@NaughtyBoyMusic has brought home 10/11 stars in his challenges so far – except the one he did last night with Adam! So, I don’t know why Adam’s being snide and smug.”
Adam also seemed unwilling to cooperate with Naughty when they and ex-Tottenham Hotspur player David Ginola took part in the Cells of Hell.
The EastEnders star chose to throw keys into his teammate’s cell rather than pass them over.
His tactics led some to believe Adam was purposely sabotaging Naughty’s performance.
When Naughty pointed out how difficult the challenge had been made for him, Adam stormed off indignantly and loudly claimed he wasn’t to blame.
Fans of the chaotic celebrity challenge are now wondering if a secret feud has broken out between the two stars, or whether they’ll manage to bury the hatchet before tonight’s episode.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! continues tonight at 9pm on ITV.
