Indiana Jones: Harrison Ford discusses shooting fifth film
Indiana Jones 5 will reportedly bring the character’s journey to an end next year. The film franchise has seen Harrison Ford play the iconic tomb raider for over 30 years, tracking down such artifacts as the Ark of the Covenant, and the Holy Grail. Indy never did it alone, however, as he always had a collection of sidekicks to help him on his journey. His back-up in The Last Crusade was none other than his father, Dr Henry Jones Sr, played by Sean Connery.
Since the release of the latest Indiana Jones film, 2208’s The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, British icon Sean Connery sadly passed away.
The star famously left Hollywood after appearing in the 2003 bomb The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
This meant he wouldn’t appear in the 2008 Indiana Jones reboot, in which Ford returned.
The latest reports suggest that the upcoming fifth Indy movie will feature a tribute to the now late actor.

Considering how much of a driving force Henry Jones Sr was for the character of Indy, it would make sense for him to reference the loss of his father.
Furthermore, Connery, Ford, and director Steven Spielberg were all friends, so an on-screen tribute would be the perfect way to commemorate their pal’s passing.
Sean Connery died on October 31, 2020, at his home in Nassau, The Bahamas.
Nothing concrete is known about the upcoming fifth film just yet, other than rumours it may be the final outing for Ford’s version of the archeologist.
A Lucasfilm boss explained last year that, no matter what, there is “only one” Indiana Jones, and that is Harrison Ford.
Harrison Ford is Haunted by the ‘Indiana Jones’ Theme Song
The connotation of this quote was that Jones as fans know him would not be portrayed by any other actor in the future.
Despite this, rumours have since swirled online that a new series of films will be arriving on screens in years to come, which will showcase a younger Indiana Jones.
The latest rumours have suggested this new version of Indy will be played by none other than Marvel star Chris Pratt.
Pratt is best known for portraying Peter Quill / Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy.

On top of appearing in Disney’s biggest franchise, Pratt also appeared in the reboot of the Jurassic Park franchise, titled Jurassic World.
In the film he plays a gun-toting palaeontologist, Owen Grady, who holds a number of likenesses to Indiana Jones.
If he were to take on the guise of a younger Indy, he would almost certainly fit in to the role.
Meanwhile, fans have also been speculating that Mutt (played by Shia LaBeouf) will be making a return to the film series.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull revealed that Mutt was actually Indy’s son.
At the end of the movie fans witnessed him almost put on the hero’s hat, signifying that he may be taking over as the whip-cracking hero in future instalments.
At the moment, Shia LaBeouf has not signed up to appear in Indiana Jones 5.
Indiana Jones 5 is due out in July, 2022.
The Indiana Jones films are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video now.
