Inside Coronation Street's Ryan Connor star's home and all-action life as character suffers acid nightmare onscreen | The Sun

CORONATION Street star Ryan Prescott took on one of the most horrifying soap scenes last night.

The actor – who plays Ryan Connor on the ITV soap – has an idyllic lifestyle away from the drama on the cobbles.

Last night the soap was slammed by fans for "going too far" as they showed Daisy Midgeley’s stalker Justin throw acid at her – but ended up dousing Ryan instead.

But when Ryan isn't filming, he has a jampacked active lifestyle, ranging from hiking to meditation.

The soap star recently shared snaps from trek to Blencathra, Sharp Edge in the Lake District before enjoying a cold swim.

Ryan – who is an ambassador of LETS (Living Beyond Emotional Trauma and Stress) – brings people together through hiking retreats to help improve their physical and mental health.

He previously said about his work: “I know, all too well, the difficulty of managing the labyrinth that is psychological wellness and the endless barriers of thought that hold us all back from clarity and freedom…

“Charities like LETS have such an important role to play, for anyone at all in need of finding a way through the darkest chapters of their lives.”

Ryan is also keen on meditation and taking a moment to reflect.

He recently shared a photo of him practicing mindfulness and focusing on at Pendle Hill, Lancashire.

Wearing a white t-shirt and a pair of grey jogging trousers, Ryan closed his eyes while sitting on a pillow.

He told fans: "

The soap star was seen sitting cross-legged on a pillow, with his eyes closed.

He told fans: "When you catch yourself in a clouded mind, too dense with thought to see clearly…come back to where your feet are.
There is always a way to make space. #quietthemind.”

He is also a regular at the gym and often posts workout photos of him lifting weights.

"Rooaaarrrrr cleavage and stashe," he captioned one gym picture.

In another snap, he shared: "At times we feel life holding us down, with all the weight of our own little worlds on our shoulders.

"Sometimes it can be hard to see that every time we’re down there…a tiny window of opportunity is created for us to GET BACK UP. I miss you squat rack."

After a long day of filming, Ryan can kick back at his swanky pad.

The actor posted snaps of his home on social media which boasts stunning landscapes and a huge garden.

He even has an open fire pit where he can unwind and a space in the garden where he can paint.

The TV star has also given fans a sneak peek inside his stylish monochrome kitchen – perfect for cooking up a storm.

When he's not filming scenes on the famous street, Ryan leads a jet-setting lifestyle.

He's posted snaps from his Thailand, Amsterdam, Greece, Monaco and the USA.

Ryan first landed the role in Corrie in 2018 as Michelle Connor's son.

But this is not the first soap role that he starred in, he portrayed Flynn Buchanan in Emmerdale in 2011, playing Aaron Dingle's love interest.

He also landed roles in Holby City, Doctors, The Syndicate and Casualty.

Last night's disturbing moment upset some fans, while others praised the harsh reality of the storyline.

Speaking on This Morning today, Ryan said Coronation Street would be focussing on Ryan's recovery long into the future.

"That's one thing we wanted to include was to have some longevity within the parameters of soap, which obviously moves very quickly," he said.

"We wanted to have some kind of longevity in the aftermath.

"Acid attack survivors go through hundreds of operations, multiple skin grafts and quite often a lifetime of post-traumatic stress disorder.

"We want to show the different stages of his recovery."

Charlotte's character Daisy walked out from the wedding venue when she heard Justin (played by former Hollyoaks star Andrew Still) behind her, saying: “Look at you.

“You think everyone wants you because you’re so perfect, don’t you? No-one’s going to want you after this.”
