She even landed a part in Welsh soap Pobol Y Cwm from the ages, playing troublemaker Elin Owen from the ages of 11 to 18.

Speaking about how the experience came about, Alexandra explained: “My next-door neighbour was going to a drama class. I was bored, so she invited me along.”

Immediately after Alexandra knew she’d been bitten by the bug and signed up to study drama first with the National Youth Theatre of Wales and later at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.

And it was a decision that more than paid off as she’s gone on to carve out an extremely successful career in both TV and film.

Speaking at the time about her co-stars James, Alexandra said: “We had such a laugh doing this film and we really just got on.”

Announcing their happy engagement news on her Twitter profile, Alexandra posted a loved up snap and wrote alongside it: “Life Goals: Find the best guy out there. Make him want to marry me.”

The couple are now expecting their first child together and announced the news back in March with Alexandra cradling her growing bump. The caption read: “Can’t wait to meet my new pal.”
