Katie Price has revealed her nan was a topless mermaid people would pay to look at through a telescope at the seaside.
The former glamour model, 43, opened up about what her family really thought when she became a Page 3 girl.
Speaking on Simon Thomas' podcast Life, Interrupted, Katie revealed taking her clothes off to model ran in the family.
It came after Simon quizzed her: "So the first time your your mum knows about it is seeing you in the papers seeing screensavers popping up on people's computers ?"
He added: " What did that do for your relationship?"
Katie stunned him as she confessed: "She's fine with it. I mean, my nan back in the day, she was a topless mermaid.
"You know, like a telescope people would pay money to look down at she was a topless mermaid but she got the sack for smoking in it. "
She added: "We've all quite jokey jokey, so it didn't affect the family in a bad way like that. "
Except for her brother who ' was like the teenager ' and didn't take it too well at first.
Katie explained more about her grandmother's exotic job in the Guardian in 2010.
She said: "My nan was a topless mermaid in her time on the south coast. She used to sit in a glass tank and punters put a coin in a telescope to look at her."
Meanwhile Katie has been putting on a brave face after she was allegedly assaulted in her home.
The "unprovoked attack" shortly after midnight on Monday last week left the former glamour model bruised and shaken, but she has remained resilient despite the incident.
She was attacked as she watched TV – causing her to flee and seek solace in the comfort of her son Harvey, who has a home nearby.
