Line of Duty fans are convinced that they know the identity of the man that Jo Davidson thought was her dad up until last night’s pivotal episode.
In a particularly gruelling AC-12 interview scene, Davidson, played by Kelly Macdonald, was told the sickening truth that her Uncle, former OCG boss Tommy Hunter, was also her dad.
But earlier in the episode Jo had confided in DI Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) that she believed her father to be a ‘bent copper’ working on the inside.

Since the bombshell revelation, Line of Duty fans have turned into armchair detectives to try to work out who Jo originally thought her dad was before she was dealt the devastating truth.
And, as usual, it hasn’t taken them long to put two and two together and come up with their own theories, as fans said Jo’s reaction to one particular policeman was extremely telling during her interrogation scene.
Viewers said they spotted that whenever a photograph of potentially corrupt cop Marcus Thurwell, played by James Nesbitt, was shown to her onscreen, Jo’s demeanour totally changed.

Line of Duty viewers suspicious as DS Patricia Carmichael taps out ‘H’ in Morse code
One viewer took to Twitter to point out: “So thinking that James Nesbitt/ Thurwell is the guy Jo Davidson thought was her dad
Another agreed, adding: “I think Jo Davidson thought that Thurlwell was her dad.” While a third said they had no doubts, writing: “Marcus Thurwell is 100% who Jo Davidson thought was her dad.”
However, others suggested that Thurwell may in fact be too young to play Jo’s dad and that there are other potentially corrupt police that fit the bill better, including Chief Constable Philip Osborne.

Other names in the frame include DCC Mike Dryden, played by Mark Bonnar and ACC Derek Hilton, who is played by Paul Higgins.
Meanwhile, fans of the show have been very busy, as this comes after they also identified key clues that suggest that Marcus Thurwell may not be dead after all.
Last night viewers watched Spanish police identify the former police officer’s dead body, alongside his wife.
But due to the grainy footage, many were left convinced that he could still be alive and well and could even have faked his own death to take him out of the frame.
Countless viewers took to Twitter to share their suspicions, even going as far as to suggest that the police officer who told AC-12 the information could have been Thurwell undercover.
The finale of Line of Duty airs this Sunday at 9pm on BBC One
