Love Island WILL be returning to Majorca this Summer after getting the COVID all-clear, according to sources.
The hit show, which was hosted in South Africa last year, was preparing for a UK-based show due to travel restrictions, however executives have reportedly approved plans to see its return to the Spanish villa.
Speaking to The Sun, sources said: “Producers have watched shows like Dancing on Ice struggle during the pandemic. They don’t want the same fate.
“All precautions have been taken to make sure it goes smoothly. Besides the extra cast, they’ve incorporated Covid safety measures and increased checks on contestants’ mental health.

“Everyone is very excited. Restrictions are easing, the Euros football is on and Love Island is back in Majorca. What more could you want?”
Extravagant plans are said to have been put in place to ensure the show can go ahead, including flying an extra back-up cast out indwell endure an eight-weak quarantine period ahead of the start.
There are also increased psychological checks on the wannabe reality stars, with them being asked to undergo “a psychological and physical assessment, a sexual health screening and an unannounced drugs test.”
Contestants are also believed to have to sign a form to identify those who are clinically vulnerable or live with anyone who is.
Laura Whitmore, 35, will host the series alongside her husband Iain Sterling, who will continue to be the voice over.

Last year the show was filmed in South Africa and saw Paige Turley, 23, and Finn Tapp, 21, win the first ever winter series.
ITV told The Sun: “We are not currently in a position to confirm locations for the forthcoming series.”
Love Island will return to ITV this Summer.
